The minimal design of the apartment was specifically created to ensure that clients who step into the space do not feel like walking into a home. Yet once the weekend rolls in or the sun sets on a long day the apartment can be turned into a cozy safe and wonderful living environment that is also welcoming.
Paris surprises us often with apartments and homes that bring forth new and space-savvy design that sets the benchmark for houses across the planet. Eco-Sustainable House project by Djuric Tardio Architectes is one such work of genius that turns to a terrace garden play area and hangout to combine the multiple needs of the homeowners. Built on a tight budget the unique fruit and vegetable garden on the roof is much more than just eye candy!
The interior of the home is clad in neutral hues with wood providing a change in scenery and ushering in textural contrast. A custom wall mural in the living area adds to the ‘natural’ appeal of the home even as the kitchen and the dining area act as a visual extension of this space. A smart kitchen with wooden cabinets and shelves and an ergonomic central island is illuminated by a sparkling pendant even as the dining table on wheels offers an eclectic and cool contrast.
Sometimes a simple extension or addition is all it takes to turn a dark and boring old home into a stylish modern hub fit for an urbane family. Once a grand Victorian villa and then a more modest traditional British house was in need of an urgent upgrade as its homeowners wanted to transform its ambiance and appeal completely.
Crafted with care and creativity by mode:lina studio the smart apartment occupies just 37 square meters and manages to squeeze in a multifunctional studio apartment and even a secret storage unit for the homeowner’s kid.
Nestled in a tranquil neighborhood of London there was plenty of space on offer for Scenario Architecture to give the classic home a smart makeover that connects the interior with the gorgeous green garden outside.
Folding glass doors connect this area with the small garden and the entire space becomes one visually. The greenery outside also becomes a part of interior and enlivens an otherwise neutral space where color is kept to a minimum.
